‘Jonah Hex’ To Begin Reshoots This Month

Director Jimmy Hayward’s adaptation of the classic DC Comics Western hero, “Jonah Hex” is going back before the cameras for additional material.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Jonah Hex” stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox and Michael Fassbender are being called back to film 12 new script pages in addition to some reshoots that are intended to enhance the story and action. The filming is scheduled to last ten days beginning at the end of January.
The report also cites rumors that the new scenes are intended to “fix certain problems with the movie” while also suggesting that the added budget is intended to help the film to compete with the other summer blockbuster films.
For the “Jonah Hex” reshoots, Hayward – who previously directed “Horton Hears a Who” – will be joined by “I Am Legend” director Francis Lawrence, who was hired last month as a consultant.
Back in 2008, Brolin told MTV News about his initial negative opinion of the “Jonah Hex” script prior to Hayward coming onboard the film.
“When I first read it I thought, oh my God it’s awful!” related Brolin. “And then I had a moment a week later and I thought ‘why is it awful? Maybe the thing to do is to do the most awful movie I can find.’”
“[I love] the absurdity of it,” continued Brolin. “It almost allows you to create a new genre. I love going back into the spaghetti western idea and completely turning it around.”
Jonah Hex is scheduled to be released on June 18, 2010.

“Jonah Hex” back in action for more filming

Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox and Michael Fassbender will reunite later this month for about 10 days’ worth of filming in the Los Angeles area.
Although no test screenings have taken place, Warner Bros. has added 12 pages to the script and decided to re-shoot some scenes.
“Jonah Hex” is based on the DC Comics comic book, a Western featuring a scarred-faced bounty hunter. The movie centers on the gunslinger enlisted to track down a former Confederate general who is raising an army of the undead and bent on liberating the South.
Jimmy Hayward, who made his live-action debut with the movie, remains in the director’s chair. He will be joined by Francis Lawrence (“I Am Legend”), who was brought in last month to act as a consultant.
The movie originally was scheduled to open August 6, 2010, but was then moved up to June 18 — the middle of the summer tentpole season.
“Crank” filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who wrote the “Hex” script, were initially on board to direct the movie but were dismissed because of creative differences with Brolin. The actor told MTV News at the time he thought the script was “awful” but fell in love with the challenge of

Brolin Revelled In Kissing Fox

Josh Brolin made the most of his love scenes with sexy Megan Fox during filming for JONAH HEX, because he wanted to take “revenge” on his actress wife DIANE LANE for all of her steamy onscreen clinches.
The Milk actor plays disfigured bounty hunter Hex in the Western, a big screen adaptation of the popular comic books, with Fox – who is regularly named as one of the sexiest women in the world – as his love interest.
And he admits he revelled in the opportunity to make Lane envious because she has enjoyed romancing leading men like Richard Gere, Viggo Mortensen and French actor Olivier Martinez over the years.
He says, “I made out with Megan Fox, which was nice. Everybody says it’s very uncomfortable doing love scenes. My wife has done a few movies with a couple of love scenes, maybe this was maybe a revenge of mine, of some sort. If you look at it from that perspective, it’s kind of like the ultimate revenge.Megan Fox is the ultimate revenge, you hear what I’m saying?”
Brolin struggled to overcome the obstacle of heavy make-up to kiss Fox, but eventually managed to master his technique.
He adds, “The thing is for me, I had a prosthetic on my face because as Jonah Hex, the character, half of my face is burned, so it’s kind of difficult to figure out to get your tongue around (the mouthpiece). I’d love to say it was really, really tough but it went really smoothly.”

Josh Brolin Describes ‘Jonah Hex’ Brawls, Making Out With Megan Fox

“Jonah Hex” star Josh Brolin dropped by “The Tonight Show” yesterday, and spilled some details about the upcoming big-screen debut of DC’s ex-confederate bounty hunter — including some thoughts on what John Malkovich brings to the lead villain role, and (we’re not making this up) what it’s like to make out with Megan Fox.
“This was another angry role that I thought John [Malkovich] could pull off,” said Brolin. “The studio had brought up a Gary Oldman or somebody else.”
Show host Conan O’Brien also got Brolin to open up about another important element of the film: his chemistry with “Jennifer’s Body” actress Megan Fox.
“Yes, I made out with Megan Fox, which was nice,” laughed Brolin. “The thing is, I had a prosthetic on my face and it was very tough for me because of the way Jonah Hex is and the way the character is, there’s kind of a rope-idermis halfway through my mouth and half of my face is burned, so it’s very tough to figure out and find a way to get your tongue through.”

Jonah Hex is #9 of The 10 Most Anticipated Summer Movies of 2010

Megan Fox’s “Jonah Hex” as number 9 of The 10 Most Anticipated Summer Movies of 2010 list, report by Beyondhollywood.com precede “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” which as number 10.
Serious actor guy Josh Brolin slips on the comic book movie boots for an old fashioned Wild West showdown — complete with a trampy Megan Fox and a villainous John Malkovich in the sidecar. Tell me you ain’t tempted and I’m calling you a liar. The film hit a bump or two on its road to being realized, but one thing’s for sure — it’s going to prove Josh Brolin’s bankability as a movie star. He’s either a very good actor, period, or he’s a good actor who also happens to be a movie star. “Jonah Hex” will tell the tale. And besides, how long has it been since we’ve been treated to a good ol fashion Western shoot’em up with a Hollywood budget? Throw in some supernatural curve balls and the film’s comic book
roots, and like the leading man’s face, there won’t be a whole lot of “typical” in this one, folks.

Megan Fox on Jonah Hex

Megan Fox will be back in action, but this time a more intimate action than battling giant robots. Jonah Hex, she plays a love interest to the western superhero, and all the intimacy that entails.
“I’m Jonah’s love interest I guess you could call it but it’s not very conventional,” Fox said. “She’s a prostitute that he’s been coming and visiting for years. They sort of have a special relationship.
He doesn’t want to get too close to her or allow her too close because everyone he loves dies. She doesn’t really understand that concept. So it’s a push and pull sort of situation.”
Don’t get too excited by the prostitute thing, guys. Fox wouldn’t be selling herself on the modern circuit. It was a more legitimate enterprise back then.
“The kind of prostitution that existed back then is very different than the kind that exists now. That was a very common way for a woman to make a living and we didn’t really show. If there had been more graphic scenes, I probably would have [researched prostitutes] but the only sex scene that is in there is between Jonah and Leila and they’re lovers, so that wasn’t really the same sort of situation.”
Dressing up in nice old clothes was fun though. “The corset obviously changes the way you walk and your breathing patterns and things like that so I enjoyed that. I wanted that cinch to tighten me as much as possible.”
he role is a little more than the cameo that’s been suggested, but she packed a lot into a brief screen presence.
“It was only five days that I filmed and I’ve never been more exhausted filming something. I mean, I shot 108 days on Transformers and the five days I spent on this were by far a lot more difficult. It’s just hard. I’m way out of my league. Everything is so far over my head. I’m just trying to stay alive.”

‘Jonah Hex’ Is Shooting For Sequels

According MTV Megan Fox told that ‘Jonah Hex’ is shooting For Sequels.
“You don’t think there will be a sequel to ‘Jonah Hex’?” Megan Fox teased when we caught up with her recently, discussing the future of the gunslinging bounty-hunter. “They leave it open for a sequel.”
That’s right, folks — the August 6th film concludes with an ending that sets up a Jonah Hex 2. And, according to the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” sexpot, some last-minute script rewrites made sure that Jonah could get back on his robot horse and ride again.
“They tweaked the script so there might be a sequel if necessary,” Fox explained of the film — which casts her as a hard-boiled prostitute named Leila. “I think there might [be a sequel].”
According to Fox, the “Hex” shoot went so well that she sees no reason why Brolin’s bounty hunter wouldn’t return. “It’s a dark, no-nonsense, no bullsh-t comic book movie” she explained, reasoning that it must have been a special project to get Brolin — who has turned down such blockbusters as “Terminator Salvation” in the past — to come aboard. “It’s rough, it’s humble… it’s bad-ass.”
As for her character, Fox explained: “She’s a prostitute. It’s sort of like a post-Civil War apocalyptic western – and, unfortunately for women, that’s how they made their living back then.”
“She’s a tough, no-nonsense prostitute” Fox added. “I was really happy with it.”
