“Jonah Hex” back in action for more filming

Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox and Michael Fassbender will reunite later this month for about 10 days’ worth of filming in the Los Angeles area.
Although no test screenings have taken place, Warner Bros. has added 12 pages to the script and decided to re-shoot some scenes.
“Jonah Hex” is based on the DC Comics comic book, a Western featuring a scarred-faced bounty hunter. The movie centers on the gunslinger enlisted to track down a former Confederate general who is raising an army of the undead and bent on liberating the South.
Jimmy Hayward, who made his live-action debut with the movie, remains in the director’s chair. He will be joined by Francis Lawrence (“I Am Legend”), who was brought in last month to act as a consultant.
The movie originally was scheduled to open August 6, 2010, but was then moved up to June 18 — the middle of the summer tentpole season.
“Crank” filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who wrote the “Hex” script, were initially on board to direct the movie but were dismissed because of creative differences with Brolin. The actor told MTV News at the time he thought the script was “awful” but fell in love with the challenge of
